Lost Time

Hey, time wasters, I’m talking to you.

Yes, you! The one who is right now fiddling with your phone playing games.

Yes, you! The one who is right now lying on your back on your soft comfy bed.

You do nothing in particular, just staring up into empty space.

Sometimes watching senseless youtube videos or listening to empty songs.

That do not add value to your self-worth nor to your good deeds.

Do you not know how precious every second that you let drift by?

Do you think you can gain back those lost seconds, lost minutes, lost hours, lost days, lost nights, lost weeks, lost months and lost years?

Are you guaranteed that you still have time in the next second, in the next minute, in the next hour?

Are you sure?

When not a minute ago someone lost those seconds, those minutes, those hours.

When their life was taken so abruptly away from them.

None of them expected nor predicted or foresee what's coming.

No, they weren’t sick, they didn’t even have cancer or any terminal disease.

Only that their time had come, only that they were not in the slightest bit aware that the life they had so taken for granted was soon to be gone.

One of them had just had his dinner with friends when he was hit by a car.

Another had just spoken to his mom about his future plans when a brick came flying out of nowhere and knocked him dead.

Still another was driving blissfully in heavy traffic while listening to music blasting from his car stereo when he was shot point blank by a hitman.

And you still think those future seconds, minutes and hours are still yours to live?

Well, you’d better think again, my friend...

Think again...
